Taking a break!

You might have heard this before – “When suddenly a thing is taken away from you, you start realizing its importance.” This happened with me multiple times and the first thing that was taken away from me was my very own city – “Mumbai”. At the age of 16, I was sent away from Mumbai to join a boarding school. I took a lot of things granted in Mumbai. Like the people found in Mumbai (when I say people in Mumbai, I mean who were born and brought up here) generally are just different, practical, laidback and are realist. They won’t try and use sweet language for malice which is frequent in other states. You can never ever get lost in Mumbai because no one will give you wrong directions but no directions can happen because they don’t want to mislead you. As I was sent away from Mumbai my friend circle was left behind.  I had more than five very good friends here but in Pilani I could conjure up only a few. It was so darn hard to get through their thick skin. There were girls from each direction in India south, north and east. But, they won't let you in maybe they felt insecure. I really don’t know.

Next drastic change in my life was, I was taken away from the whole India itself. Oh! How much I missed India! US of A might be more sanitized or it is strong infrastructure wise but there are so many other things missing there. I want you all to remember the basic things needed by human are food, shelter and clothes. FOOD aspect was just unsatisfactory there. People are much more tension free in India than in US of A. Because, it is highly sanitized, people there experience more vague and weird diseases. I was allergic to DUST in US of A but not in Mumbai. Now, can you believe this? While, I was there I realized how important is to take a break. I missed all the vacations I got while I was schooling in India. No Ganesh Chaturthi, No Diwali, No Holi, No Good Friday, No Republic Day and the list goes on. In a quarter, I would get only one day off which was burdened by homework, projects and many other things. I was away from me family for like six years. I MISSED THEM!! No matter how much I would put my bro down in front of others but I missed him. Also, I missed hanging out with me dad and mum. I am grateful that I came back because staying away from my family I was starting to loose the connection I had with them.

So, I TOOK A BREAK. I planned that after I am done with my Bachelors I will come home and live the life I had missed all these years. I wanted to Be a part of my family, friends and MUMBAI.  Although, taking a break from life or sitting at home not doing anything is frowned upon and is much underrated in India. But, each one should take it. On a break for month! Nope, you won’t even feel it. Minimum six months and maximum one year. Do what pleases you trekking, hanging out with friends, kayaking, parasailing, camping, being a couch potato, watching movies, tasting various types of cuisines, travelling, get spa treatment done, etc. Trust me! When you do, you will know it was worth it.

P.S.: Do it before you get married. Taking a Break and responsibilities has never been a good combination ever.
